Water Resistant

Informations about watertight

Is my watch watertight?
Water resistance is a property that prevents the ingress of water to a sufficient degree. Watches can be protected against water and moisture, they can never be completely waterproof, but more or less resistant to water penetration. Waterproofing at watches is not a permanent feature, it should be checked annually. This is especially true after the opening of the casing (e.g. battery replacement, repair)
The information on the watertightness of watches is only a test pressure. This is not equivalent to the corresponding water depth! E.g. if the water density is 3 bar (ATM) or 30 m water depth, it is not possible to dive with the watch up to 30 m deep! Up to which test pressure your watch is watertight, please refer to the data on the dial or the case floor.
